Lifted Axle Break-In Process

Due to the tight tolerances and the high angles of the Gorilla Axles in lift kits the inboard joints will run hot unless properly broken in. To avoid issues associated with overheating joints, initially one must only use the newly installed axle(s) for short periods (5 to 10 minutes max), making sure the joints do not get hot and burst the boots, also make sure there is not anything on your machine does not tear our boots due to clearance issues. As the joints heat up they should be allowed to cool back down or cooled with water. After the joints have gone through a number of heat cycles they will break in and not run nearly as hot. Please keep in mind that it is normal for all CV joints to warm up under normal usage. If the ATV is used in deep mud and water only then one does not need to worry about the break-in process. New inboad cv joints are $225, if you burn one up, we will not warranty this part of your axle.
