Make sure the product is properly installed, used and maintained (this includes boot maintenance, we recommend checking your axles/boots often for grease leaks or air holes).

Make sure your inner cv joint is locked into your differential…. continuing to ride if it pops out will ruin your splines and prevent coverage….you will have to purchase a new inner cv joint, ie $235. Keep an eye on them to make sure they do not pop out after riding. (Check your seals and bearings inside of your diff if you continue to have pop out issues. Also check your wheel bearings. We sell replacement clips and o-rings to use under your clips to keep them from popping out. Some customers also add Limit Straps. A chewed up inner cv joint is not covered under warranty

When installing your axle, please use a rubber mallet and put an axle nut on your outer cv joint so that you do not ruin your threads (new outer joints are $235) If you strip the threads with an impact wrench, you will be responsible for purchasing a new outer joint. Stripped threads are not covered under warranty. We can usually rethread them or any machine shop can...most Gorillas are M20x1.5.

Most Gorilla Axles come with a stake nut…. use a flat punch to knock the end of the stake nut into the milled slot at the threads, this will hold your axle nut into place. Gorillas are a softer, stronger steel than OEMS and axle nuts need to be torqued to 70-80lb/ft.

Portal Applications If you are running portals and not your factory hubs you will need to purchase portal nuts for aftermarket axles, most aftermarket axles run 20MX1.5 thread pitch along with Gorilla axles. You can rethread your existing portal nut supplied by your portal retailer or purchase portal nuts with the correct thread pitch from Gorilla Axle or SuperATV.

Break your axle(s) in properly. CV joints will run hot due to tight tolerances and high angles, to avoid issues with overheating joints and boots blowing up you must use the newly installed axle(s) for short periods of time (5 to 10 minutes), making sure the joints do not run hot or anything on your machine does not tear our boots due to clearance issues. Our Cv housings are usually larger than oem, so sometimes you will need to use a dremel to make room for the cvs....some customers may need to add a spacer or shim the differential up. As the joints heat up, they should be allowed to cool back down or cooled with water. After the joints have gone through several heat cycles, they will break in and not run nearly as hot. If your frame/a-arms/hubs/etc tear your boots, use tape or silicone to get back home/camp/trailer to prevent the grease from leaking out and burning the cv joint up (new cv joints are $235). If a band pops off, replace it or use a zip tie if handier!!

We do not warranty boots. Excessive damage to components (inner race/cage) due to torn boots is not covered. Riding with a torn boot and ruining other components will prevent coverage. (Rebuild kits are $135 and up) Inspection of boots should be part of regular maintenance. Most boot kits are $25.00 each, you may purchase them and change them yourself or mail the axles to us and we will change them with no labor charge.
